“Fueled by Dreams of the Future proves that you can descend from a line of rocking lineage and come entirely into your own, on your own. It’s a compelling effort and remains exciting throughout its entirety.”
— Brett Stewart, Vents Magazine
“Simply rock and roll in every way.”
— Brett Stewart, Vents Magazine
Fueled By Dreams of the Future is even more dynamic than the Avians’ first record, and shows the band getting only more talented as composers and colorful as sonic painters. I hope Dylan McDonald and the Avians have more dreams like these; it will lead them to a bright future.
— Jackson Sinnenberg, Georgetown Radio – WGBT
“They still know how to cut loose and make some classic, straight up rock songs. Across several tracks of the LP, the group displays an incredible repertoire and fluency in different Rock N Roll styles.”
— Jackson Sinnenberg, Georgetown Radio – WGBT
“With great rhythms, unique melodies and distinctive vocals, these albums showcase the band’s dynamic talent.”
— Christen Johnson, Skope Magazine
“Just as well as this band does edgy, they do smooth and laid-back.”
— Christen Johnson, Skope Magazine
“Fueled by Dreams of the Future is the rarest of things these days – the product of a truly unique traditional singer and songwriter with an eye towards tomorrow and one casting a long, backwards glance to make use of the past today.”
— Lydia Hillenburg, Rock n’ Roll View
“Produced by Richard Downs (Fueled by Dreams of the Future) is a fun romp through the musical past with all-new original tunes that sound very much like they were performed/released in the late 60s and 70s when legendary bands like The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Who, and The Doobie Brothers ruled the charts.
— Patrice Majors, Focus on the 615
“All in all, the albums are solid and most definitely a work that may have been inspired and influenced by his father’s generation but a record all his own.”
— Rob Penland, Music Existence
“Dylan McDonald and the Avians have their own dazzling brand of edgy rock, with compelling lyrics. The band’s guitar riffs and over-all sound have a wonderful hint of the 70’s. “Love Can Never Be The Same” off the band’s latest album, “Fueled by Dreams of the Future”, is a favorite of mine. Always look forward to Dylan’s appearance in Santa Barbara and a chance to have him as a guest on the KLITE Morning Show!”
— Catherine Remak, KLITE Radio, Santa Barbara
