Day N Nite was officially born in March 2020 with diversity and inclusion at heart by a group of friends with a mutual love for creativity, music and human connection. Day N Nite is Derrick DeShawn Williams, Ashley Threatt and Eric Pedigo. They are a melting pot of bright personalities and styles with vast musical backgrounds rooted in the Midwest US.
They all grew up performing in their respective church ensembles. Derrick and Ashley continued to develop their craft in various Pop/R&B/Soul cover bands. Entering many Midwest based contests individually as well as together, placing 1st in “Can You Jam?” and placing in the top 4 at Hoosier Casino Talent Contests (Indianapolis, IN; ‘18), for example. Eric focused on songwriting and acoustic based compositions. Songs from his latest solo release “Carousel EP” were placed on AlexRainbird and Mahogany playlists (2 Million Subs; ‘20).
Their paths crossed in 2017 after meeting through mutual musical friends and events. They all felt a creative flow that sparked several songs, including “L4U” (Looking For You) a R&B/Pop Single released in February ‘21. Produced by Kelson Camp (Wale, Rihanna), the group reached 2,000 followers and 15,000 Spotify streams organically within the first month. The song has been featured on Discover Weekly Spotify Playlists (‘21).
