BJ Griffin, born just a few houses down from Hitsville U.S.A. in Detroit, Michigan, is a singing cellist with boundless musical passion. Growing up in Virginia Beach, VA, he excelled in the Virginia Youth Symphony Orchestra, performing nationally and internationally in places like China and Greece. At James Madison University, BJ triple-majored in music education, cello performance, and music industry, while also launching his singing career with the all-male a cappella group Exit 245, dazzling audiences up and down the East Coast.

After college, BJ moved to New York City, where he perfected his unique blend of singing and cello playing. As a solo artist and leader of diverse ensembles, he breaks genre barriers by mixing classical, jazz, and pop. BJ’s talents have graced TV and internet specials, and in 2013, he formed the BJ Griffin Band. BJ and this dynamic group has shared stages with Smash Mouth, Andy Grammer, Sir Sly, and Lionel Richie, Ms. Lauryn Hill and most recently opened for Erykah Badu.

Most recently, BJ captivated millions on America’s Got Talent with his soulful rendition Let’s Stay Together,” leaving the audience spellbound. BJ is in the studio now anticipating his first full studio release early next year.
